OOooopps To Late....Thanks though.....  I've got all of my installs sorted and backed up though.... Years of files on back up drives... Mainly it was that I have to begin learning advanced track editing and objects creation so I can advance Indianapolis 1955 .... Fresh start is sometimes better I hope...
Tim,

when we go to the SRMZ archives, and click on threads, some works, some display Error 404.Sometimes, inside one topic, some pages open and others not. Let's suppose it is normal, but but if I follow logic all pages should open, if the backup of all pages at RCS is complete. Thousands thanks for this great job you did.

Here's an example: I'm looking for the topic with the title Credit Lists. Is there a way to find it? on a wayback machine, is there a way for a search function that works.

The search would find it when indexed... Google are being a bit slow at that. Probably lack of visitors, so they don't see a need to index it.

The 404s simply do not exist. I appear to have more pages in my archive than are seen on archive.org, but that is because the urls contained some odd things I have stripped out. There's no way to find something that doesn't exist at all on archive.org.

So in archive.org you may be on:
forumindex1.file?=index

If might be linking to:
forumthread1.file?id=1

But archive.org's actual archive might be named:

forumthread1.file?id=1&session=90s8uvfiuzdh9iv8ysd9zghviudszhg

...and if you do not guess that url correctly on archive.org it will never load for you. I stripped off &session=90s8uvfiuzdh9iv8ysd9zghviudszhg which is why people have stated they can find things on my archive they cannot find on archive.org.

The alternative, I suppose, is to download the archive of files I uploaded here, enable file checking/reading in Windows search and search for the content you want that way. It should be able to read html files.
Thanks Tim,I 'll apply your tips

Don't you think that you should open a new section titled : " How access to SRMZ archived files tutorial" ( or something like that) on the Grand Prix Legends section, with the links and your answer to my question. The title wld be in bold, like a sticky thread. The amount of data available and still useful is unvaluable.

I think a good percentage of the 348 members who don't come often at the GPL Alternative may think SRMZ data is lost, and I am not sure they know solutions are offered on this topic.Too many pages to look at ! The amount of useful information and exchanges in the SRMZ subjects is an irreplaceable source, and anything that can make it easier to access should be encouraged.
Totally agree with this last comment, thanks Needforspeed !

This forum got a GPL Rank subforum back in mid-June. Thank you for that, Stefan R. Heart

As promised, finally some news have been shared in there Shy
Hi Guys,

Just a quick question.  As we no longer have the GPL track Database and everything is at GPL Addons.

Which is wonderful by the way, and thanks to all for the hard work. Smile

But, when adding new tracks to GPL i can no longer update SGEM.ini    .  will the ability to update be available via GPL Addons ?

I can still add via season files etc, but just wondered if it was something lost forever.

Cheers, Paul.

If one of GEM+ creators can modify the source code to point to The Fastlane server then it can be done. Same goes for downloading the Track Map files since the file-naming format is identical.
I wonder if someone with a hex code editor could find the addresses coded into GEM+ and modify them manually. Obviously if the original authors are still around and would be willing to recompile it wouldn't need to be hacked...
They were both useful features...
At a guess, it's looking up hostname  gpltd.bcsims.com & then attempting to connect there to pull SGEM.INI update,  via HTTP  GET /sgem.php ?

Code:
GET /sgem.php HTTP/1.1
Accept: image/gif,image/x-xbitmap,image/jpeg,image/pjpeg,*/*
User-Agent: Microsoft URL Control - 6.01.9782
Host: gpltd.bcsims.com
